Backwater : Allepey

I am a person who loves silence a lot! Adding anything more to it, becomes close to my heart.

You can travel from kochi to allepey/Alapuaza in two hours by road. Kerala is called God’s state and I was blank about it.

Honestly speaking it was a normal countryside; under developed areas. The first thing I noticed when I got to alapuaza beach, it was normal small town life . But once i reached to my booked resort, they asked to shift me somewhere else. I was too annoyed that time and that humidity! Ahh!

Ohkk, enough is enough! I went there and was complaining to that guy! That time the person asked me to come out and see. OH MY GOD! Please consider it from Jenice ( FRIENDS). My blacony was having a sea view!! It was on Alapuaza beach! And it was 17hr30. Sun was also calming down and may be it was a sign that it is asking me to so the same!

Once i orderd for my chai and I started planningdd my vacation. Honestly, the beach was not that clean and as this is one where all fishermen take their stock…. Also, there is arrangement of bamboos in sea to know the levels of water and then they decide the time. We sat there till late night talking about things and how beautiful the sea breeze and sound was!

If I tell you to wake up early in the morning around 4hr30, how you will feel? ! Ahh! Okay same was with me but I managed to do that for that day.

After 20 minutes, we arrived to a place from where all houseboats and other boats leaves for backwater. It was a nice early morning.. no crowd.. just me and my travel partner and the person who was riding the boat. He played some typical mallyalam music which calmed me down. As we were rowing ahead, the waves were being generated in that backwater. That sound.. Omg! I can still feel the sweetness of that..Enchanced by birds’ whispering!! In the middle of day to day hustle life, I found peace there. Maybe I got something which I was looking for. That man asked me to look that side, still water, one fisher man dropping fishnet and there above, sun rise! What a lovely moment and scenery it was. That moment only I decided, if ever I required to quite everything and have peace this is the place to come to.

How you feel to be part of city/town where the only transportation are these boats? With prons and cons, you can let your mind know. Coconut tress, banboo trees, rising sea and backwater was pleasant to make birthday morning great. I found children who were swinging with coconut branches and then jumping in the the water! Their laugh.. I can still remember. I love south indian food and tried all type of dosa served there with around 4 types of chutneys! Cool! That was the perfect birthday I ever had so far. And it was great 5 hers spent to make my self feed awesome.

Alapuaza has other places to visit too. There are museums, parks, temples. I visited one museum belonging to the richest person from kerala and it was indeed splendid. The collection is too awesome. His wife created it as token of love once her husband passed away. Do visit that! Also there are elephant parks where you can get a chance to ride one through the wood.

Kerelites there are loving and helping. Food is good. Make arrangement with resorts or hostels or hotel partners and you can ask them for other arrangements. I made one friend who could speak kannad, tamil, telegu and mallyalam and I was not able to figure out the difference but everything was funny!

Take a pause in between the day to day life and and meet your self in peace where you can settle all annoying thought and peace. And This is how I started to get convinced about this God’s own country, Kerala!
