Lockdown diaries : Part 2 - My kitchen was my new restaurant

Being sick of the situation: Random things going on and lack of going out.


I had to cook everything!! The main thing I noticed is that the count of breakfast's utensils is as equal to those for lunch or dinner. The bright side is i found which are my favourite dishes/menu/food. - Pancakes were best and few trials with cake was yumm.

- I fell in love with dumplings - trust me they are easy and heathy - Learnt to make rotis finally and few good dishes..

- Chopping veggies, that also in perfect shape is so relaxing!!

Wait - i was cooking only for myself still i found it to be a lot.. this left me wondering how our mothers handled it so well.


Selecting vegetables is not window shopping stuff - this is serious business!!

This pandemic situation taught us how important it is to get vegetables washed thoroughly. I wonder if my cook really cleaned them that well or not.

While washing them I used to talk to them, wonder about their shape, color and how they have become this creative creatures. Above all, I still get confused which vegie should I prepare first so I follow FIFO method on that :P irrespective of their life span!!


Our moms played a really commendable role in this task. Just imagine cooking same kind of stuff and feeding others on top of making it taste better and better each day.. Hats off to mummies :)


It's like your client request are never ending.


I made peace with it and started decorating my kitchen counter :)
